Some stories are born from imagination, while others are carved from the trials of life—woven together by hardship, redemption, and an unshakable desire to make a difference. The Infinitely Limitless Books of Wonder is more than just a nonprofit organization; it is the embodiment of a journey, a testament to the power of storytelling, and a mission to change lives—one story at a time.

The Beginning: A Treasure Rediscovered

From the moment I could hold a pencil, I was lost in a world of creation. As a child in the early 1980s, I spent hours sketching and scribbling, crafting worlds and characters that existed only in my mind. I missed cartoons, meals, even entire days in my own world of endless possibility. It was an escape, a passion, a calling that I did not yet recognize.

Decades later, in the midst of my mother cleaning out a room in her house, I stumbled upon a suitcase. What I found inside left me speechless—a time capsule of my younger self. Stories, illustrations, and ideas, each one signed at the bottom right-hand corner, dated and sealed in childhood ambition. This suitcase was proof that storytelling had always been my gift, a talent that had been waiting patiently for me to return.

The Lost Years: A Detour Through Hardship

Somewhere along the way, life led me astray. I became lost in the world, making choices that resulted in homelessness, hardships, and a life on the streets. The creative child I once was had disappeared beneath the weight of survival. I reached a point where I no longer had control over the direction of my life—I needed help beyond my own strength.

Through prayer and a surrender to God, I found my way back. The journey was not easy, but it was necessary. With every step forward, I began to rebuild—pulling myself from the depths of my struggles, finding stability, and rediscovering who I was meant to be.

A New Beginning: The Birth of Frizzy Grizzly

In 2019, something stirred within me again. My godson, Douglas Jeremiah Griffin, told me he was about to become a father, and with time on my hands, I turned back to my first love—storytelling. I wrote a children’s nursery rhyme book, reimagining classic rhymes, dedicating them to my godson’s child, Adonis, and even including a special story for my own daughter, Legend Trinity Brown. Though she was already an adult, the book was my way of reaching back across time, apologizing for my absence, and making amends through the one thing I knew I could give—my stories.

That was when I picked up my pencil and, for the first time in my adulthood, created a character of my own: Frizzy Grizzly. A bear full of warmth, wonder, and adventure—he became the very first symbol of what was to come. Frizzy Grizzly was the spark, the first building block of what would become The Infinitely Limitless Books of Wonder.

A Heart for Helping: A Family Built Through Compassion

As I continued to rebuild my life, my compassion for others grew. My journey led me to a job as a caregiver for a young woman with cerebral palsy. The more I worked with her, the more I saw the beauty, strength, and resilience of those who navigate life with limitations. It changed me. I didn’t just see a patient—I saw a person full of dreams and possibilities. Through her, my heart opened even further, and my mission to help others solidified.

In a beautiful twist of fate, I fell in love with her mother. Today, we are happily married, and her daughter is now my daughter-in-law. Together, we celebrate life, pushing her wheelchair across finish lines in races with a group called SA. She does not let limitations define her—and neither will I.

The Mission: Changing Lives One Story at a Time

Everything I’ve experienced—the struggles, the rediscovery of my talent, the love I’ve found, and the people who have changed my life—has led to this moment. The Infinitely Limitless Books of Wonder was born from this journey.

This nonprofit is more than a platform for storytelling—it is a movement. It is a place where stories are not just written, but where they heal, inspire, and change lives. Every book, every project, every initiative is designed to uplift those who are struggling, to give a voice to those who feel unheard, and to create a tangible impact through the power of storytelling.

Through The Builder Book Bearhouse, people can create their own stories, seeing their dreams brought to life. Through Bear Hug Express, love and kindness are spread through personalized gifts. And through every initiative we launch, we make it clear: No one is alone. Every story matters. Every life holds limitless potential.

Looking back, I see now that my path was never lost—it was being written. Every hardship, every moment of doubt, every rediscovered page in that childhood suitcase led me here. And now, I dedicate my life to ensuring that others find their way, that they see the beauty of their own stories, and that through our nonprofit, we build a world where no dream is too big, no struggle is ignored, and no one is forgotten.
